We are a friendly GP Surgery on the outskirts of Winchester requiring two part time qualified dispensers to join our enthusiastic and professional team.

The positions are permanent, working a minimum of 18 hours (part time) and will cover 36 hours over 5 working weekdays (Mon-Fri). The rota covers mornings between 8.45am – 1.00pm and afternoon sessions between 1.00pm – 6.15pm.

No weekend work is required. Flexibility is essential to be able to provide additional cover for holidays and sickness.

The NVQ Level 2 as a dispenser or in Pharmacy Service is preferred but not essential

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • To ensure the Dispensary is run in a cost-effective efficient manner, complying with the Dispensary’s policies and Standard Operating Procedures, facilitating effective communication between patients and all members of the health care team.
  • Issue, prepare and dispense prescriptions for eligible patients.
  • Controlling dispensary stock so it is within reasonable levels, is accurately recorded in and out of the computer stock control system, rotated and stored correctly
  • Prepare monitored dose trays for specific patients
  • Hand out prescriptions and dispensed items and collect payments where appropriate
  • Undertake DRUMs as required
  • Deal with queries relating to prescriptions as necessary in a calm and professional manner
  • Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift as necessary
  • Liaise with the clinical team within the Practice daily and respond promptly to any queries which arise.
  • Answer the telephone as promptly as possible in s courteous manner
  • Our Dispensary is a very busy environment requiring you to work efficiently within a team.
  • Initiative and excellent customer care are a must.
