Spending time in nature is great for your health, however when enjoying the great outdoors, walking in woodlands or strolling through grassy areas, you may come into contact with ticks. The common tick is a tiny eight-legged creature which survives by attaching itself to your skin and feeding off your blood. It is important to remove ticks from you carefully to prevent the spread of infection. Simple measures can reduce your chances of being bitten by a tick. Use an insect repellent and cover up your skin, especially the lower half of your body. Wear trousers rather than shorts in long grassy areas and check yourself after a walk. Please use the link attached for more advice and how to carefully remove a tick from your skin.
