Gratton Surgery is a training practice for future GPs, medical students and nurses. All members of the Practice Team support the strong teaching ethos and so students may be learning in a variety of environments.

The GP Trainers are Dr James Read, Dr Bonnie Toulson and Dr Lorne McEwan. They supervise GP Registrars who are qualified doctors finishing their speciality training in general practice at Gratton Surgery. As part of their training they will need to record some consultations for which they must obtain patient consent. These consultations will be kept strictly confidential and only used for GP training.
Gratton Surgery is a teaching practice for Southampton University Medical Students and New College early access course.

If you do not wish a student to be present during your consultation please inform the patient navigator on reception when you report for your appointment.

Student nurses on placement to the Community Nurses, Community Midwife and Health Visitor frequently work in the practice. They are supervised by our community staff.

Thank you for helping to train the doctors and nurses of the future.
